About two weeks ago i found two VOTT speakers that belonged to a local church. The church had used the speakers for a halloween party as they are now orange. A local theater sound guy has offered to swap me a pair of model 19's for them. Is this a good deal ? I paid $40.00 for the pair.

Missouri right? I saw them on Craigslist a month or two ago.

Whether the trade is a good deal or not depends on what each has for drivers. If the drivers have been replaced with cheap replacements then that's as bad as having no driver. You don't want to be trading original (although orange) A7's for Model 19's if the 19s have cheap car subs replacing the Altec woofers.

Very good advice! Find out what's in both.

And $40 for a pair of A7 - orange or not - is a monster deal. Just right for Halloween, I suppose.

drivers are 802d,416a and 500G xovers in the VOTT's. The 19's are altec drivers do not remember the model #'s. 19 cabs moded 15 xovers. Any thoughts?

Would really help to find out exactly what is in them.The 19's should have 416-8B or C's and the HF driver should be 802-8G/33952 or 902's and the 811 horn with the model 19 Xo of course.

Thanks for the info on the 19's. Just what I needed. I have been overwhelmed with all the model #'s. I believe the HF drivers were 802's of some kind with the 811's. Are the 902's superior to the 802's? The LF's I don't remember however do remember they would have the newer 16" baskets with the alnico magnets, what ever that would be. The last issue is the model 15 xovers, can they be modified to be the same? thanks

Well, I guess....just replace the parts on the model 15 crossover with model 19 parts...once you've replaced EVERYTHING you will have a pair of 19 crossovers....

Just kidding.

They are significantly different. The 15 crossover should work and you could upgrade later but I would replace them

Thanks again for all the info,glad I found this site. Have not found a schematic for the 15 or 19 if anyone can help. Can the xovers be found (stock or aftermarket)? What is the market value of model 19's, both the xover and the complete speakers? The understanding of this deal was that I would someday want to upgrade the xovers to 19's. The speakers components I would be getting are know to be good. Is this a good swap, oranges for oranges so to speak.

M19 crossovers come along from time to time. Also look for the N1201-8A as they are the same.
